Dance Attire
Students are encouraged to wear leotards and tights to class with hair pulled back out of their eyes. However, jazz capri pants may be worn with a form-fitting shirt. Jazz and tap shoes must be worn at all times. Students are strongly discouraged from dancing in bare feet.
Make-up Classes
Students are encouraged to attend every class. If a student cannot attend a scheduled class, there is no make-up class available; the time is simply lost. If the instructor has to cancel a class due to a personal reason, weather, etc., the class will be made up at the discretion of the instructor.
Student Behavior
Students are expected to be at every class and to be punctual. Classes involve detailed technique that can only be mastered through repetition. Therefore, a student’s full attention must be given at each class. Students who choose not to follow directions or disrupt class will promptly be asked to leave class.
Refunds will not be given for poor behavior, and the student may or may not be able to return to the studio. This decision will solely be made by the instructor.
Students are also strongly encouraged to practice on their own so the class moves at a good pace and is not slowed down by the instructor having to re-teach curriculum from the week before.
Christmas Parade
The Dance Bag participates in the Marshall Christmas Parade. Three and four-year olds will ride on a decorated float with parent volunteers. Kindergarten and older will perform the walking parade routine, and dancers will be issued a prop for this performance which must be returned. Times for parade practice and line-up will be announced prior to parade.
